If you are interested in becoming a consumer representative, we invite you to join the National Consumer Representative Register (NCRR).
The register consists of people from around Australia who have the expertise to represent the voices of mental health consumers.
Placements can range from ongoing committees to one off workshops.
If you apply to join the NCRR, we will let you know about consumer representative opportunities as they become available and invite you to apply for those roles.
Many of the roles will include online meetings, and some may require travel. This will be specified in the advertisement. We also recommend organisations pay consumer representatives a sitting fee at a certain level to recognise the contribution of their work.
If your application for a role is successful, we will support you as your role commences, and also throughout your placement, so that you have the peer support needed to be successful in your representative role.
If you would like to apply to join the National Consumer Representative Register please fill in this application form.
The application form provides us an overall view of your experience and interests, to help us match consumer representatives to roles.
Please note you do not need to provide any sensitive information about your experiences of mental health challenges at this point. If you decide to apply for a specific role we can speak with you about any supports you may require to participate, and any sensitive history you would like us to be aware of.
Any information you provide us will be managed in line with our Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Principles.
